1.An overview of audio transformers

An audio transformer, a special transformer that processes audio signals, is mainly used to change the voltage level of audio signals and provide impedance matching to ensure that audio signals are efficiently transmitted between different devices. For example, some transformers can boost the low frequencies to make the bass more pronounced, or boost the high frequencies to make the sound clearer. Our common audio transformers are divided into:
1)Input transformer
The input transformer is the transformer between the voice and the audio equipment, which can also be called the microphone transformer, and its main role is impedance matching.
2)Output transformer
The output transformer is connected to the power amplifier of the amplifier and the speaker for impedance conversion, and can output a larger power audio transformer.
3)Interstage transformers
The interstage transformer is a transformer between the intermediate stage of the amplifier, such as the common coupling alternator, push transformer, etc., the main function is to convert the first frequency signal voltage, so that the impedance of the pre- and post-stage amplifiers can be matched.
  1. 4.Applications and scenarios of audio transformers

1)Input transformer
There are two types of input transformers: LINE input cattle and MIC input cattle inputs. LINE input cattle are suitable for driving low input impedance amplifier circuits, or connecting multiple amplifier inputs in parallel to ensure efficient signal transmission. The MIC input cow is mainly used for the input end of the microphone amplifier, most of which are designed to have gain to reduce the gain pressure of the subsequent amplification stage, and a few are designed to have no gain.
2)Output transformer
In audio and playback equipment, output transformers are used for impedance conversion of circuits. Some output transformers use a 1:1 ratio, keep the level constant, and the main function is to isolate the signal. Due to the low impedance of the output transformer, it is often driven by discrete operational amplifiers for more stable and fuller sound quality.
3)Interstage transformers
The interstage transformer is located between the front and rear stages of the amplifier, such as the coupling transformer and the push transformer, and its main function is to adjust the audio signal voltage, realize impedance matching, and ensure the smooth transmission of the signal. The output transformer connects the power amplifier and the speaker, is responsible for impedance conversion, and is capable of outputting high-power audio signals.

4)Audio signal voltage isolation
The transformer provides galvanic isolation, 1:1 transformer does not change the signal level, prevents interference, is suitable for signal transmission and ground isolation, and can also convert signal types.
